02The idea

Constraint first. Everything else second.

A firm can only grow as fast as its tightest point allows. Work anywhere else and not much changes. It's the idea behind Eli Goldratt's book The Goal.

It's usually demand or supply. Not enough business, or not enough time. Fix one, and the constraint moves to the other.
